Spring has certainly arrived here in North Carolina. The weather was fantastic on Saturday (80 degrees, slight breeze) for riding. I was able to knock out a nice 28 miles, which included some nice hills as I prepare for my ride at the end of the month. Definitely more cars that I would have liked, but that's certainly how it goes (as long as the idiot's are kept to a minimum I'm alright, which includes the Minivan road warriors).

Just as an aside, you do not look any cooler in your minivan if you put flames on the side...your minivan is not fast (no matter how fast you bolt from a red light)...and (being a former minivan driver I know this to be true) you never look cool in a minivan no matter how much you try. Why the aside, you might ask? Because the worst drivers on the road are people in minivans (especially guys trying to be cool) and those in minivans and SUV's on cell phones...just because you drive some large, earth-destroying vehicle you do not own the road.
But I digress...It was a great day for riding...except for the BUGS! On one 28 mile ride I was hit in the face with no less than 6 flying insects! Certainly a good reminder to keep my mouth shut while riding, which incidentally improves my fitness (at least that's what I tell myself) although those bugs, if ingested, could be some potentially much needed protein on a long ride : )

So, aside from feeling like Jim Carey in Me, Myself, and Irene...it was a really great day to ride.
